EVERYBODY’S
“THE RAT” The life of the Paris underworld is featured in “The Rat,” which has been transferred to Everybody’s Theatre, where it will commence showing tomorrow. The picture has been described by reviewers as a new film sensation/ There is perhaps no fascination to equal that possessed by the underworld of Paris. AVhat strange glamour it holds is drawn in “The Rat,” in which Ivor Novello, Mae Marsh and Isabel Jeans are the leading players. “ ‘The Rat’ is outstanding in many ways,” says a critic, “but more particularly on account of the great array of feminine beauties incorporated in its cast. Apart from its beauty appeal, it is a tremendous dramatic sensation, well calculated to stir the emotions. It is a triumph for Ivor Novello and the cast.” The title is the name given to an Apache leader, who is the dominating spirit of the underworld. One exciting scene sh&ws an Apache fight with knives. In order to get the proper thrusts and parries, the director engaged the most expert knife-fighter in Paris as instructor. Also showing will be “The Scrapping Kid,” a Universal production.
