CONSTABLE’S ANKLE BROKEN BY MAN’S BRUTAL KICK: BYSTANDERS UNMOVED

Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Last evening Constable Furney was admitted to Christchurch Hospital suffering from a fractured ankle. The constable attempted to arrest a man in Cashel Street, and was kicked heavily on the ankle. He is said to have called upon the bystanders for aid, but nobody helped him.
