AT THE NETS AGAIN
ENGLISH CRICKET BEGINS COACH FOR YOUNG BOWLERS ■By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Reed. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Monday. Cricket practices began to-day. nets were in use at the Oval, where “ Razor ” Smith took up his new occupation as coach to England's young bowlers. Smith is enthusiastic about the work, and says: “It is like having 20 years of my life given back «*gain. I have been bat-making, but I prefer the open air. I am going to all the public places in Surrey to see the workers as well as the public schoolboys. I am certain there are Potential bowlers playing on the public deaths and commons. I shall induce Promising boys to come and practise at Oval. I do not consider my playing days ended. I feel fit nough for big cricket, if I am inhed. Maurice Bird shares the coach"J* ork at the Oval with me.” —A. and N.Z.
