CIRCUS AND PICTURES Bradley’s Monkey Hippodrome is coming to the Empress to-night as the star attraction. This company of monkeys give a vaudeville show all by themselves. Even the orchestra, which is pitted in front on a stage, is made up of monkeys, and the first laugh comes on before the little curtain is raised, when the monk orchestra leader gives miniature imitations of divers and sundry celebrated musical directors. Talk about a busy body! You could not find a busier body than the orchestra leader when the bell rings. He calls his musicians to attention with raps of the baton that would wreck a monkey flat and turn over more pages cf music than you could find in a big publishing house.
In addition to the Monkey Hippodrome, a first-class vaudeville company will appear, headed by Mr. Fred Foley, the famous magician, ventriloquist and cartoonist, who will be assisted by his “pal,” “Coster Joe.” Mons. Herman, a Continental hand shadowist, will present his original shadow performance, and Mr. Leo Bradley will preside at the piano.
