FILLING THE HOUSE
“NANETTE’S” PERPETUAL CHARM Auckland has fallen for “No, No, Nanette!” Another crowded and enthusiastic house last evening again paid tribute to her winsome grace and seemingly perpetual charm. “Nanette” is packed with haunting melodies, and the company from first to last dances with ability. Miss Alma Mackie and Mr. Roy McDonnell lead the way when it comes to acrobatics combined with grace. Miss Mackie tapped the side of her head with one foot as easily as the ordinary dancer taps the floor. Miss Elsie Prince is a diminutive figure, who sings and dances her way
through the piece with an elfin charm which is irresistible. Mr. Jimmy Godden hands out the laughs in a new and refreshing way. He is not hampered by tradition, and has not been forced to call in the assistance of a joke-book. “No, No, Nanette!” is sure to enjoy her stay in Auckland, just as much as Aucklanders are delighted over h°r visit to them.
