FOUR SCREEN FAVOURITES
Four screen favourites at their best help make “Eve’s Lover,” the Warner Brothers’ picture that opens at the Majestic on Friday, one of the most enjoyable entertainments of the season. Irene Rich, as a millionaire business woman; Bert Lytell, as the foreign baron who marries her; Clara Bow, as a gay little gladhander, and Willard Louis, in a character that resembles his “Babbitt” developed to the millionaire scale, give performances of superb vitality. The story, by Mrs. W. K. Clifford, has benefited through the excellent direction by Roy Del Ruth. International marriage, high life in New York and Bermuda, big business, industrial strife in the steel mills, and a thrillingly human story of a millionaire business woman’s romance helped make “Eve’s Lover” one of the most satisfying pictures of the season.
