SCIENCE AND RELIGION

MAKING CLEAR THE HOLY WRIT The assistance of science in the interpretation of the Bible was commented onby Canon C. H. Grant Cowen, during his sermon at St. Matthew's Church last evening. Many University students were among the congregation. The canon pointed out that until a few years ago the age of the earth, interpreted from the Book of Genesis, had been estimated at 6,000 years. That the earth was millions of years old was proved by science, making clear much of the Holy Writ which had been misunderstood. The canon said that the risen Christ was inspiring the students to give their best to their university life. Modern science made God’s, revelation of Himself in the forces 'pf nature more wonderful than ever. '
