CAR OVER BANK
PASSENGERS HURT PINNED UNDERNEATH (Special to THE SUN.) O AMARU, Sunday. \ motor accident on the main road TiPir Hillgrove yesterday morning resuhed in five persons being injured Mr. Alfred Hicks, carpenter, of St. Kilda Dunsdin, was motoring to Oamaru with a party made up of Mrs. Ethel Hicks. Rua Hicks, aged five rears; Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols, of High Street, Musselburgh; Mrs. A. M. M Davey, of Musselburgh; and Orvin Cecil Davey, aged six years. The car skidded and went over an embankment Sft. deep, turned over and landed on the hod with six of the passengers inside. Mr. Nichols was thrown out, The bey Davey escaped injury and the driver received only bruises and a shakir g. ... Mr. Nicholas received chest injuries. Mrs. Davey, compound fracture of the left les above the knee and abrasions; Mrs. Nichols, cut on forehead and several ribs broken; Mrs. Hicks, injuries to the head and fracture of a small bone in the arm; Rua Hicks, injuries to the head. All are making good progress.
