EASTER COMPETITIONS The nursing and first aid competitions held under the auspices of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at the Domain on Saturday were concluded late in the afternoon. The men’s events were decided in the morning and the nurses’ division completed their events later. Results: Nurses’ division: HORSLEY CUP Timaru, 115 points 1 Wellington South, 110 points 2 National Reserve, 108 points . . 3 NURSE SANDERS JONES CUP National Reserve C, 79 points 1 National Reserve A, 71 points 2 National Reserve B, 70 points 3 AUCKLAND AMBULANCE CUP National Reserve, 67 points . . 1 Timaru, 64 points 2 Wellington South, 62 points . . 3 A social was held in the Ambulance Station Hall in the evening, when the trophies were presented by the assist-ant-commissioner, Air. C. J. Tunks. The function was most enjoyable and proved a fitting conclusion to a memorable meeting. WANGANUI CONTESTS Press Association WANGANUI, To-day. The St. John Ambulance had a contest in ambulance work for the Old Boys’ Shield on Saturday. Several teams from outside provinces took part. The competition took the form of general ambulance work, including efficiency in attention to the injured, also stretcher work. Wanganui team, with 941 points,was first, with Auckland, 882 poinrs, second.
