Leslie Averill, of Christchurch, 1 3 visiting Auckland for the Easter holidays. ______ Mr. Jack Bloomfield, of Auckland, is staying at Prince’s Gate for the Easter holidays. Mr. Charles S. Thomas, the wellknown Christchurch lawyer, is spending the Easter vacation in Auckland, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. K. M. Sleigh, who for the last four years has been in Rarotonga as secretary to the Resident Commissioner, has relinquished his position and returned to Wellington. A happy presentation took place at the Waikato Hospital on Thursday last, when Mr. Campbell Johnstone, chairman of the beard, presented a gold medal 10 Sister M. Stevenson in recognition of her gaining first place in New Zealand at the midwifery examination. An interested visitor to New Zealand is Mr. L- H. Pascall, of the well-known confectionery firm. He is on a combined business and holiday tour of the world and was in Hamilton yesterday. He intends to spend Easter at Rotorua and after a short sojourn in the Dominion will leave for Canada. Mr. Pascall recently arrived from Australia after an inspection of the works which his firm operate there in conjunction with Messrs. Cadbury and Fry, at Hobart. HOTEL REGISTER Grand. —Captain J.
