HAMILTON BOROUGH
SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. A sound financial position is disclosed in the figures dealing with the operations of the Hamilton Borough Council during the past year. All the accounts, with the exception of that of the town hall (which is in debit to the extent of £33), show a credit balance. The estimated receipts for the year on the general district fund account totalled £70,000 and the actual amount received including heavy traffic fees held in trust, was £72,298. Of that amount £1,838 9s was collected in heavy traffic fees. The estimated expenditure for the year was £74,738 and the actual payments made were £75,686. The district fund showed a credit balance of £1,082 18s lOd. The rates struck were estimated to produce £50,670, of which only £1,383 remained uncollected. The total credit of the district fund account at March 31 was £13,977.
