NORTHERN RUGBY

BAY OF ISLANDS UNION (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. The annual general meeting of the Bay of Islands Rugby Union was held in the R.S.A. Hall, Ohaeawai, on Thursday night, about 60 delegates and supporters being present. The president, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, referred to the splendid manner in which the balance sheet was presented by the treasurer-secretary, Mr. McFarlane. Mr. W. Pearson (Ohaeawai) was reelected patron and Mr. T. J. V. Dunlop (Kawakawa) president. The Waihou Rugby Football Club wrote applying for affiliation with the union. After discussion it was decided that the application be granted subject to the consent of the Hokianga Rugby Union. It was resolved to grant an honorarium of five guineas to the secretary. The Kaikohe Club gave notice of motion that the age of juniors be raised to 23 years of age, and weight to 12 stone. The following emergency sub-com-mittee was set up: Messrs Dunlop, Patience and Ludbrook. It was resolved that the Northern Committee be empowered to appoint its own selectors.
