BY ROYAL COMMAND
SPECIAL PICTURE SHOWS FOR DUKE AND DUCHESS Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of York show such keen interest in motion pictures that by special arrangements with Paramount* Pictures, all the gazette items of their visit to Sydney from March 26 to March 30 were screened privately for them in Government House each night. On one night their Royal Highnesses missed their dinner to see the Paramount gazette of their activities during the day. By special request of their Royal Highnesses, a command screening of Harold Lloyd’s “For Heaven’s Sake/’ a Paramount release, was held in Government House on their last night in Sydney. Both the Duke and Duchess were exceedingly interested in the picture and expressed their keen pleasure personally to Mr. Hoggan. The Duchess especially exulted in the comedy situations of the picture. In presenting the Paramount cinematograph record of the royal visit to their Royal Highnesses at Government House, Mr. Hoggan said: “Your Royal Highnesses: It has been a privilege and an honour for my company to take motion pictures of your arrival in Australia and of your official visits each day, and it has been a pleasure to record them on the screen for you each evening. These pictures have been joined together to form a cinematograph record of your visit in Sydney, and on behalf of my company I have much pleasure in presenting it to you. We trust it will serve to refresh your memory of your visit to Australia—a bright gem of the British Empire.”
