Speed Merchants Caught. The Hamilton traffic inspector sallied forth the other night and secured a bag of 15 speedsters during a sojourn of two hours on a nice quiet road just out of town.

Women’s Rest Room. —lnternal furnishings of the women’s rest room in Karangahape Road are now' nearing completion, and the room should be open late this week. No official ceremony will b« held.

Thames Probation Case. —Eli Mitchell, who w’as charged in the Police Court this morning with a breach of the terms of his probation, was remanded until Thursday to enable his papers to be obtained from Thames.

Youth Remanded. —A remand until April 21 was granted by Mr. Hunt, S.M., In the case of George Cecil Horry, a youth of 19, who was charged with breaking and entering the dwelling of William Rainsford Penn and stealing 40s.

Egyptian King for England. —Press reports from Cairo state that according to present arrangements King Fuad of Egypt wdll visit England in July. He will arrive at Dover on July 4, and will stay for three days as the guest of King George at Buckingham Palace.

Ramsay MacDonald in America.— While the leader of the Labour Party, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, is in the Cnited States, he will visit places of historic interest in Massachusetts, such as Plymouth, where the Pilgrim Fathers landed.

Accidental Death. —At the inquest on William John Styles, aged 75, a Christchurch man. who, assisting his son-in-law in Dunedin to paint his house, fell from a ladder and broke his neck. a verdict accidental death was returned.

A Veteran Fisherman. —A fine rnako shar’.* weighing 4001 b. was caught at fape Brett during the week-end by Mr. G. S. Reade, of England. Mr. Reade is 81 years of age and had a number of strikes during the day. Pie reports that there are plenty of big game fish in evidence and the weather m fine.

Hunt, S.M., this mornremanded Leslie George Dun n. a lad of 16J. until April 21. on a charge of stealing £2 3s fid from Mary Janet Akeroyd. Senior-Ser-geant Edwards said that Dunn had just been brought up from Invercargill.
