Maoris from all parts of New Zealand are assembling at Ngaruawahia for the big Mormon gathering which takes place at Easter, commencing on Thursday, and next week-end should find a large floating population in that popular township, where the natives periodi-

cally stage big entertainments or gather for some important event. Some 3.000 or 4.000 visiting natives are expected at Ngaruawahia during the next few’ days and while the Mormon gathering is in progress unique entertainments by versatile Maori performers will be given. The rhythmic poi dance and melodious Maori songs will hold sway for several days. On April 20 the sittings of the Maori Land Commission begin at Ngaruawahia. when evidence will be heard from the nativ>-s interested.
