N. Z. LABOUR PARTY
At the meeting of the Auckland Women's branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mrs. L. E. Rowlatt presided.
Two delegates, Mesdames Rowlatt and H. G. R. Mason, were appointed to attend the forthcoming conference of labour women at Napier. This is the first conference of Labour women to be held in the Dominion. Among other well-known Labour women who were delegates from the southern branches were Mesdames McCombs. Snow, Stuart and Miss Mary McCarthy. The remits to the general conference, also to be held at Napier at Easter, were discussed at the meeting. A public address is to be given by Mrs. McCready next Thursday at Ponsonby, all women interested being invited to attend and hear her views. The congratulations of the branch were tendered to Mrs. Dreaver upon her appointment to the vacant place on the Newmarket School Committee, she being the first woman to obtain a seat on that body.
