VISIT OF WARSHIP (From Our Own Corresjiondent.) TAURANGA, To-day. H.M.S. Laburnum is due to arrive on the 9th inst. She will tie up to the railway wharf at The Mount. The harbour board has arranged for an excursion train from Matata. to bring in school children from the coast districts. BUILDING SOCIETY A meeting of the Tauranga Co-op-erative Building Society was held on Thursday evening, Mr. B. C. Roblims, chairman of directors, presiding, to ballot for an appropriation of the sum of £SOO. In the course of his remarks the chairman stated that the society was in a very sound financial position, and up to the present £7,300 had been distributed through its agency. On the ballot being taken Mr. A. lies was declared the lucky winner. SPLENDID SEASON The whole of the country districts are in A 1 condition and farmers say that they have not had such feed on their farms for many seasons. All stock is looking splendid and returns to the dairy factory are well maintained. There is no likelihood of feed being scarce this winter. If it had not been for the unfortunate drop in dairy produce prices the dairy farmer’s lot would indeed have been » happy one this season.
