PREPARATIONS AT THAMES HISTORIC GATHERING (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES To-day. Mr. W. B. McDonald, secretary to the executive committee for the diamond jubilee of the goldfield, which occurs at the end of July this year, left today for the South Island, where he will endeavour to arouse the interest of ex-Thames residents of the days of the gold rush. Strong committees have been formed and the preliminary organisation is practically completed*
