MUNICIPAL BAND

SUNDAY EVENING CONCERT The Municipal Band gave a concert on Sunday evening which attracted an appreciative audience. The piece de resistance was the delightful overture to Weber’s “ Oberon,” and this received an excellent performance. Other numbers included Beethoven’s hymn, “ To Thee, My Heart,” Sousa’s suite, “ At the King’s Court,” Easthope Martin's “ Evensong,” and “ Reminiscences of Sullivan,” arranged by Winterbottom, all of which proved very popular. Messrs. Hal. C. McLennan and Fred. Bowes displayed good technique in their flute and cornet solos, “ Sixth Air Varie ” (de Beriot), and Lullaby.- (Short)*
