TEA-TIME RUSH
CROWDS ON MOUNT EDEN FOOD SUPPLIES RUN SHORT Those in charge of the new tea kiosk on Mount Eden were not singing “Tea for Two” yesterday afternoon. It was unfortunate that so many Aucklanders should have wanted to see the new kiosk and the glorious view from the top. The weather was perfect and crowds besieged the building from all quarters. Most of all, it seems, the sightseers wanted their tea. The fame of the tea kiosk had spread far and wide and they called for tea —not for two, but for well over 200. By 3.30 o’clock the food supplies had run short and thirsty tram per s and motorists turned homeward without having had a cup to make the outing a real one.
But it all goes to show that the new kiosk on Mount Eden has been appreciated by Aucklanders. Next week there will be nourishment for everyone.
