CAR TURNS SOMERSAULTS AFTER THE BALL

MIRACULOUS ESCAPE (From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, To-day. While driving home from the Waiuku military ball in the early hours of Saturday morning in a five-seater Buick car, two Pukekohe young men, W. Crosbie and E. Coutts. had a miraculous escape from being killed or seriously injured. The car skidded in the loose metal after ascending the Waitangi Hill and deviated from the road, the accelerator jamming. The rear left wheel collapsed and the car turned several somersaults. The driver (Crosbie) and occupant suffered a few scratches, and slight concussion, but the car was extensively damaged.
