ANOTHER RECORD BROKEN GREAT TWO-MILE RUN Pr6ss Association WELLINGTON, Sunday. R. A. Rose broke the Australian and New Zealand athletic record of two miles, established in 1911 by G. X. Hill Wellington, by six seconds on Saturday evening, doing the distance in 9min. 24 l-ssec. At a meeting of the Council of the Xew Zealand Amateur

Athletic Association the time of 14min. 29 l-ssec. for the three miles event, registered by R. A. Rose on the Basin Reserve on March 26, was passed as a New Zealand record. Application is to be made to the made to the Amateur Athletic Union for recognition of the performance as an Australian and New Zealand record.

Andrews’ b c c Glenroy, with a velocity of 720 yards a minute; Mr. H. Best’s b c h Maid Marion, 718 yards a minute, 2nd; Mr. M. H. Crowhurst’s r c c Red Ensign, 717 yards a minute, 3rd. The Premier Club’s race from Te Ivuiti, airline 104 miles, approx., resulted in a win for Mr. J. Green’s r c c Silver Prince, 1,222yd5. a minute; Mr. C. Ryan’s b c h Rose Marie, 1,215yd5. a minute, 2nd; Mr. W. Knight’s blk c c Warrior, 1,205yd5. a minute, 3rd. The same club’s race from Te Awamutu was won by Mr. W. Knight's blk c li Anzac, 818yds. a minute; Mr. R. McCarthy's b c p h Lady Betty, 708yds. a minute, 2nd; Mr. J. Green’s b c h Silver Princess, 482yds. a minute, 3rd. First place in the Cornwell Pigeon Club’s race from Ohakune was secured by Master B. Rotheny’s blk c c Hawk, with a velocity of 1,175yd5. a minute; Messrs. Wattam Bros.’ b c. c Glen Afton, I,l7oyds. a minute, 2nd; Mr. Brown’s b c h Reremoana, 3rd.
