FEMALE FRANCHISE
THE QUESTION OF AGE ( Copyright.) (British Official Wireless .) RUGBY, Thursday. The terms of the promised statement by the Prime Alinister, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, on the extension of the franchise for women, who are now entitled to vote in Parliamentary elections at the age of 30 years, whereas men may exercise the franchise at 21, were again considered by Cabinet yesterday. No decision has been reached, and the statement in the House of Commons will not be made until next week. The Labour Party has decided against participating in a three-party conference on the subject. The Times says it is now expected that the decision will be either to give the vote to women at 21 on the same terms as men or to refer the subject to a committee of the House of Commons.—A. and N.Z.
