After living at the Thames, Wanganui, and Patea. Air. and Mrs. Beere finally settled in Wellington in 1885, and except for visits abroad, Airs. Beere was living in Wellington ever since, where she made many friends, who will miss her, and hear of her death with great regret, says the “ Evening Post.” Her surviving children are Miss Estelle Beere, who left with her mother for a trip to England in July last; W. O. Beere, surveyor: and R. St. J. Beere, solicitor, both of Wellington; and D. M. Beere, dentist, of Whangarei. One son, the late Air. Oswald Beere, died in 1923. The brown marks on plates duo to overheating can be removed with a cork and some salt. Sprinkle the salt over the part to be treated, and then rub it briskly with the coi k. A little moisture will help, but the salt must not be made too moist. * * * Alix enough starch and vinegar to make a cream that will spread easily with the fingers, and smear on your shoulders and arms for sunburn. The starch is cool, and soft as it dries.
