UNEMPLOYMENT IN CITY

This week’s unemployed registrations at the Auckland Labour Bureau show a decrease of 17 applications over the figures for the week ending April 2. Men fit for heavy work total 500, against 520 last week, those suited to light labour number 131, whereas 128 applied during the previous period. During the week 63 men were placed in private employment, this figure being the same as for last wt*ek.
