MAORI FESTIVAL

BIG EASTER MEETING RATANA’S APPROVAL (From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, To-day. It has been suggested that the semipolitical meeting to be held in WTanganui at Easter by the Young Maori Party during the Maori tennis tourney might in some way affect the Ratana movement, but some of those concerned consider otherwise, the object being to assist, where possible, in the advancement of Ratana’s operations. It is understood that Ratana himself has viewed the activities of the Young Maori Party with approval The gathering to be held is creating great interest among all the tribes of the Dominion. The opening of Ratana’s temple is also commanding attention, and already visiting Maoris are arriving to take part in the Easter celebrations.
