TRAM AND TRUCK IN COLLISION
MOTORMAN HURT When overtaking - a motor-truck in Anzac Avenue this morning, a New-market-bound tram struck a baulk of timber projecting from the side of the lorry. Both conveyances were on parallel courses when the lorry, carrying a bulky electrical transformer, swerved toward the middle of the road, the tram striking a stud of timber placed transversely beneath the transformer. The front cab of the tram was battered by the impact, the glass screen being broken, and the coach work splintered. Motorman H. J. McClymont, who resides at Epsom, suffered a severely-cut right thumb, but no one else was hurt.
