TEACHER TRANSFERRED

A FAREWELL GATHERING Mr. J. B. Ryan, who has been in charge of the Wharepuhunga School for the last five years, was accorded a send-off by the settlers. Reference was made to the splendid manner in which the children had advanced* in their education under Mr. Ryan's tuition. The presentation took the form of a tobacco pouch. Mr. Ryan has been appointed second-in-charge at Hikurangi School.
