It was stated that as the present lights were out quite frequently, access to the station at night was difficult. Mr. Rickerby will investigate the situation. Takapuna Election.—Mr. G. H. Collins having withdrawn his candidature for municipal honours, Mr. J. Collins has agreed to fill the vacancy in the United Borough Party. Engineer Resigns.—At to-day’s meeting of the Tauranga County Council, Mr. R. L. Pearless tendered his resignation as county engineer, which was accepted with regret.
