“A GOOD HIDING”
‘•What did you do that for?” asked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning, when George Charles White appeared in the Police Court charged with stealing a bicycle seat and stem. “I don’t know,” said the youth. “What he wants is a good hiding,” observed the magistrate, and then to White he said sharply: “Now look here, I’m going to let this case stand over for six months. If you behave yourself you’ll hear no more about it. If you don’t (ominously) you will.” Meanwhile the Probation Officer (Mr. Campbell), who had told the court that White was beginning to drift, will keep a fatherly eye on him. __
