CAR ABLAZE

BACK-FIRING THE CAUSE The Point Chevalier Fire Brigade received a call early yesterday afternoon to extinguish a -fire at Point Chevalier reserve. A motor-car owned by the Associated Motors, Ltd., of Rutland Street and leased by Mr. J. Belchambers, caught fire through backfiring. The damage done to the body was considerable, but fortunately no damage was done to the engine. The fire was put out with one of the brigade’s extinguishers. The car was insured for £l5O in the South British Insurance Office.
