MALPRACTICE DENIED
WOMAN SENT FOR TRIAL On three charges of unlawfully using •an instrument with intent to procure a certain result Hannah Matilda Dalton, aged 54, appeared before Mr. McKean, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. She pieaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail of £2OO and one surety beingallowed. According to the evidence given by three young women, two of whom are married, an operation was successfunperformed by the accused on each of them. The single girl said she was charged £SO and the others £25 and £6 respectively. All three were positive that the accused was the woman who performed the operations, and gave detailed descriptions of her house, which is at 3 .Surrey Street, Grey Lynn. A considerable amount of correspondence alleged to have passed between the accused and the woman who gave evidence and two instruments were produced by the poli-ce. According to the police evidence the accused, who is known as Nurse Dalton, denied having used the instruments. She said that they were left at her house by another woman.
