HEAVY LIBEL CLAIM
WRITS AGAINST NEWSPAPER SYDNEY,Friday. jVIr. H. D. Mclntosh, the well-known theatrical entrepreneur and newspaper proprietor, has issued two writs, each claiming £IO,OOO damages for alleged libel. One writ has been issued against Mr. R. Packer, publisher of Smith’s Newspapers, Limited, and the other against Smith’s Newspapers, Limited. The alleged libel was contained in an article published in the “Daily Guardian” in connection with a luncheon given to the Duke of York. — A. and N.Z.
