Y.W.C.A.’S WORK

WINTER PROGRAMME . Last evening at tlie Young Women's Christian Association the, official inauguration of the clubs, classes and other activities ot the association took place in the presence of a gathering of over 300. The girls of the hostel presented pictures of life in the hostel, and also several amusing skits' on everyday happenings there. *‘A day in the hostel” was one of the latter types. The enquiry office was also burlesqued in a short play depicting the many and varied calls made upon the enquiry officer. The cafeteria was then shown as was a glimpse of the immigration work of the Y.W.C.A. Similarly other activities were dramatised. Miss Begg concluded the programme with an address on the alms of the association, and the way in which these varied activities interpreted its ideals of fellowship, development and service in a practical way to the girls of the citv.
