School Cricket. —The annual cricket matches between the first and second elevens of the Hamilton High School and the Thames High School take place at Hamilton on Friday. Farmhouse Burned. —Fire totally de stroyed the home of Mr. Richard Sexton at Kaipaki at about 5 pm. on Monday, while the family were away milking. A neighbour gave the alarm, but nothing was saved. Duke in Australia.—The Duke of York was free from official functions in Sydney yesterday. He spent the morning inspecting a number of factories. In the afternoon he visited a number of the leading city clubs. Airmen Captured.—An official report from Madrid says some tribesmen in Morocco have captured two Spanish airmen, who were forced to kind while they were engaged in a bombing expedition. New Guinea Beans.—The gigantic Guinea butterbean recenty introduced to this country, promises to be a n unusual and much sought after household vegetable. Mr. C. N. Robinson. of Te Uku, near Raglan, has propagated the plants, ami has a specimen on view at Hamilton. While byno means the largest he hits produced it weighs about 1 21 b, is 4t't 6in long. a nd has the appearance of an elongated pumpkin. As many as 10 beans will grow on one vine. The grower intends to exhibit better specimens at the forthcoming Waikato Winter Show, and says the bean makes a delectable table dish.
