“THE WORST BLOW”
AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION MR. D. JONES ON NEW SCHOOL Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. “The establishment of an agricultural college at Palmerston North would be the worst blow at agricultural education that has been attempted,” said Mr. D. Jones, M.P., in placing the claims of Lincoin College for recognition as an integral part of the New Zealand Agricultural College before the Prime Minister and the Hon. O. J. Hawken, Minister of Agriculture, this morning. The Prime Minister suggested that the Board of Governors should appoint three representatives to meet Dr. Marsden. Director of the Department of Industrial and Green Life Research, and Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director of Agriculture, and inquire into the question of the expense involved if Lincoln College were given equal status with the North Island College, and the duplication of staff that would be required.
