The Oversea Settlement vote totals £1,540,000, an increase of £503,000, Provisions for Australia include £374,000 interest on development loans, compared with £182,000 last year. The new vote includes £15,000 for the erection of houses in rural areas, £400,000 for assisted passages, as compared with £350,000 last year, and £5,000 for training and depots where migrants are cared for, com pared with £43,000 last year. Child migration to all Dominions will cost £30,000, which includes the cost of the Fairbridge Farm scheme, compared with £20,000 the previous year. New Australian votes include £5,000 for training domestics before embarkation, also £B,OOO for a new organisation for medically examining assisted migrants before selection. The New Zealand items include £25,000 cash advance to settlers desiring to own farms, and £138,000, as compared with £126,000 for assisted passages. The grant for the general work of the Empire Marketing Board and Economic Committee has been restored to £1,000,000, compared with £500,000 last year.—Sun.
