DUNEDIN MAYORALTY

ANOTHER CANDIDATE Press Association DUNEDIN, Tuesday. An influential deputation recently waited on Mr. R. S. Black to ask him to stand for the mayoralty. Mr. Black asked for time to consider, and has not yet replied definitely; but it is believed that he will accede to the request if he is assured that there is a general wish that he should do so. If he is not a candidal for the mayoralty, he will stand as councillor. [Mr. Black is a well-known citizen, and a former councillor. Another candidate will be Mr. W. B. Taverner, the present Deputy-Mayor].
