KAURI GUM CONTROL

FIRST MEETING OF BOARD PROCEEDINGS IN CAMERA The first meeting of the newly-op-pointed Kauri Gum Control Board was held this morning those present being Messrs. M. W. Wynyard (chairman), J. A. Andrae, Papakura (Government representative), J. Peachey, Greenhi the (exporters’ representative), and E. McDougall, Waihopo, and C. Davidson, Te Kopuru (producers’ representatives). Although the proceedings were taken in camera it is understood that the first meeting will be devoted to purely formal business. At subsequent meetings it is understood that an endeavour will be made to define a policy through which an improvement to the kauri gum trade inav be effected. The sittings are being held at the offices of the Kauri Gum Commissioner in Hobson Street. Rupert Hughes has been engaged as a supervisor of production by the L mversal Film Company.
