THE STRAND
MR. ARTHUR BUCKLEY The programme at the Strand Theatre this week includes “Hogan’s Alley” and “Exit Smiling.” The former, starring Monte Blue and Patsy Ruth Miller, is a stirring drama, and the other big attraction, “Exit Smiling,” is a human and appealing picture. The picture stars Beatrice Lillie, “England’s Lady of Laughs,” Jack Pickford, Harry Myers, and Doris Lloyd. The Strand orchestra renders delightful music throughout the whole programme, which besides the two big pictures, contains the Strand Magazine. Reno’s Marimba Band, which proved so popular at the Majestic Theatre last week, also renders a short musical programme. Mr. Buckley, “the man who knows,” will appear at the Strand on Friday in his Simla seance. Mr. Buckley gives quick and accurate responses to hundreds of questions and has a happy knack of carrying his demonstrations through many changing moods. He has delighted, mystified and advised seekers of truth the country over. Extraordinary development of his natural psychological faculties and not any supernatural powers, enable the “man who knows” to answer questions of business changes, travel, investments, love trouble and divers other subjects, and promises many surprises for those interested seriously in psychical research. “Whispering Wires,” Fox Fi’ms’ great mystery' film, comes to the Strand on Friday. Anita Stewart and Edmund Burns head a glittering cast. The film is based on the noted stage play of the same name. Albert Ray directed the production in masterly fashion.
