AUCKLAND MINISTERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Auckland Ministers’ Association was held at the Y.M.C.A. yesterday. The Rev. J. S. Stebbins presided. Mr. A. W. Benton, of the Auckland British Sailors’ Society, presented a report showing that over 39,000 sailors passed through the port last year. He desired to recommend the w'ork of the society to the sympathy of the various congregations. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the president desired a report be brought down with a view to finding a practical means of dealing with the problem of unemployment. He commended the question to the earnest consideration of the congregations. The following officers were elected: President, the Rev. J. Pattison, of Somervell Presbyterian Church, Remuera: treasurer, the Rev. G. M. Macdonald; secretary, the Rev. J. R. Nelson, New Lynn, representative on the Workers’ Educational Association, the Rev. L H. Hunt; representative on the Board of the Seamen’s Mission Hall, the Rev S. Griffith
