Car Damaged.— A lire caused while filling the benzine tank damaged a new car yesterday owned by Mr. A. Moody, of Hamilton. Daylight Limited.—The Daylight Limited will be taken off the Auck-land-Wellington run on Saturday, April 30. A train leaving Frankton Junction daily at 8.34 p.m. and arriving at Auckland at 11.2 p.m. will be put on to cope with the traffic between those two stations. The Daylight Limited is being taken off a month earlier this year than last year. Motorist .Fined. —“lt’s a borderline case, sir,” pleaded Mr. G. P. Finlay, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, when Thomas Robert Finlay was charged with being under the influence of liquor while in charge of a motor-car in Quay Street last night. Mr. McKean imposed a fine of £lO, and ordered the defendant’s license to be endorsed. Night Letter Mails.—A night letter mail service from Auckland is to be inaugurated at the request of the Thames, Paeroa and Te Aroha Chambers of Commerce. It will close at Auckland at 5.30 p.m. and will arrive at Thames at 2.15 a.m. The service will begin as soon as lockers are installed on the chief stations en route, and will include the Te Aroha, Paeroa, Waihi and Thames stations.
