FURS AND REPPS Fur is used on all models in profusion, and so well is it manipulated that a coat with a fur collar which is carried down the front and round the hem does not look to heavily adorned. The most up-to-date coat materials are repp and duvetyn and black is considered very smart. Next in order of popularity comes any number of shades of red nasturtium to a deep mulberry, not forgetting scarlet, which, in our grandmothers time, was a colour to be very proud of possessing. A considerable amount of green is bein.v worn, but I don’t think it is very successful for a coat which is to see a good deal of service. Grey is returning to fashion, also navy blue, but that
has the air of an investment against the most upsetting weather, and. in consequence, I expect women will fight shy of it. Linings may no longer be chosen indiscriminately, and frock of the material which lines your coat is a necessity. It is by no means compulsory to have a fabric which matches the coat in colour, in fact it is better otherwise.
