The general election in Soutli Australia has resulted in some close contests, but the Government is definitely defeated. . . .. It is probable that a pact between the parties will gain additional seats. In the local option polls the votes for continuance of the present number of licenses predominates in every district. In the Western Australia election the result is still in the balance. If the Government can hold two of four doubtful seats, which is expected, it will have n narrow majority—Sun.
