DUNEDIN’S FAIR ATHLETES FIRST CLUB MEETING Pres 9 Associatioyi DUNEDIN, To-day. The women’s amateur athletic nnwement was advanced a further stage in Dunedin on Saturday afternoon, when the iirst sports meeting of the Dunedin Ladies’ Amateur Athletic Club was held on the Caledonian Ground, in the presence of a fair crowd of spectators. An interesting programme was put on, large entries being received for the various events and keen racing being the order. Several men’s events were decided, the I.oooyds. open handicap resulting in a win for the University half-mile champion, W. N. Allison (20yds.). by four yards, in 2.24, from J. Morris (25yds.), L. C. McLachlan (scr.), third. R. W. Lander, the New Zealand 120yds. hurdles champion, won the 220yds. open handicap off 4yds.. in 24 l-ssec. No outstanding times were recorded in the women’s events.
