Y.M.C.A. CONVENTION
SATISFACTORY REPORTS Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. The seventh Dominion convention of the Y.M.C.A. concluded yesterday. All the reports on the year’s work were of. a satisfactory nature. Appreciations of the work of the association throughout the whole of New Zealand were received. Special reference was made to the association’s work among the Indians in Fiji. A financial deficit was shown on the year’s work of the council, largely due to the shortage on military work and unexpected expenditure on maintenance charges. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the National Council that steps be taken at an early date, in cooperation with the association, to establish a fund and prepare a plan for the training of unemployed officers for service in New Zealand. The resignation of Mr. H. W. Kersley, as president of the Dominion National Committee, was accepted with regret. Mr. H. K. Wilkinson, of Dunedin, was unanimously elected to the vacancy. The next convention will be held in Christchurch next March.
