THE EMPIRE

FAMOUS MUSICAL COMEDY “Battling Butler,’’ the famous musical comedy that kept London and New York roaring with laughter for months, is now presented as an excruciatingly funny screen comedy by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It is being shown to-night at the Empire and on the same programme is “The Foolish Virgin,” in which “Spec” O’Donnell, one of the most versatile child actors on the screen, makes his appearance in an interesting character portrayal. “Spec” is very clever, full of vitality and screens wonderfully. A number of years ago he had the honour of being picked among the most promising children on the screen. Many an actor starts young, “Spec” figures, so you can’t tell where a feller will land when he grows up. His best friends have heard him say that his ambition is to become America’s leading actor.
