SCARE; MISSING MULLET-BOAT SAFE

Alarming reports about the sinking of a mullet boat in the Rangitoto Channel on Wednesday are, fortu 1 - nately, inaccurate. The mystery has been cleared up. The Rinaldo, owned by Mr. R. F. Featherstone, encountered a storm on her way from Kawau to Northcote: the tiller carried away and the jib blew out, but she made shore in the evening. “When we were off Murray’s Bay a storm suddenly caught us,” said Mr. Featherstone. “Suddenly the tiller carried away, .but fortunately I carried a spare one, and after some anxious moments had the Rinaldo under control again. It was lucky for us that the boat did not ship any seas. Goodness knows what might have happened then.”
