A RICH DISTRICT

PROGRESS IN WANGANUI BIG WOOL RETURNS 9 (From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, To-day. Wanganui is developing into a very rich farm centre. There are many progressive dairy companies operating, and another important industry, one that is standing by it just now, is that of wool-growing. Some very fine flocks are being built up in this, and surrounding districts, and the importance of the industry to the city and its environs is reflected in the wool sale. Close on £900,000 has been distributed among producers this season, so far, and the final sale this week means another payout of fully £IOO,OOO, so that approximately a million pounds will have gone into the pockets of sheep men of the district who have sold their wool at Wanganui.
