war years. The hero of it was the clerk who “went to join the men of Agincourt.” After a silence of years, he has published a book of verses for the young. One of the most amusing poems is “Aunt Jane,” which begins: Aunt Jane’s in such a hurry, She makes us all perplexed, And when I’m in one moment, She’s always in the next. When I ride a camel, She talks of getting down; And when I start to paddle. She speaks of boys that drown.
